Adventure SolutioNZ is located on an historic Maori ancestral site. Irapeke, a renowned ancestral Ngati Awa warrior was an expert in warfare, and he was able to assemble Maori warriors whenever they came under attack by other Iwi. When Irapeke called these war parties together they would gather at Te Pahitaua.

To continue with the Maori Warrior theme, our main adventure activities are named after the ancestors of Irapeke, enhancing the overall experience.

The establishment of Te Pahitaua Adventure SolutioNZ as an Outdoor Pursuit Centre is a concept designed to support various health initiatives.

Ngati Awa, and Ngati Awa Social Health Services in particular, had the opportunity of operating a Service Academy in partnership with the New Zealand Army through the then Chief of Defence Forces Lieutenant General Anthony Birks.

Through this relationship, the realisation of outstanding soldiering qualities and local Maori history formed the premise for this outdoor pursuit centre.
